The main focus of the Yellowstone story seems to be on Margaret and James’ daughter, Elsa Dutton. Elsa is the one telling the story in both series. She is an adventurous person who thinks she is more mature than her actual age.

As Elsa goes through her journey, she experiences both tragedy and love. Sadly, she meets her end in her father’s arms just as they reach their new home.

Thomas ends up with Noemi, and they get a happy ending in the series. They both start a new life in Oregon with their kids.

LaMonica Garrett used to be a professional slamball player and has portrayed many tough characters in his career. His first big role was in Sons of Anarchy. He also appeared in Designated Survivor and Arrowverse.

Sam Elliott as Shea Brennan

 

The story of 1883 begins with Captain Shea Brennan, a strong leader, and his friend Thomas, guiding a big group of people to Oregon. Captain Brennan has lost his family to sickness, but he finds a new purpose in helping these settlers on their dangerous journey.

After completing his mission, he commits suicide to be with his beloved family. However, there’s a chance we might see more of his story in another prequel spinoff of Yellowstone.

Sam Elliott, the actor who plays Captain Brennan is best known for his roles in The Big Lebowski and Road House. He has also appeared in country music-focused films like A Star is Born and The Hero.

Billy Bob Thornton as Jim Courtwright

 

Jim Courtwright shows up briefly in just one episode. He was the Marshal in Fort Worth, known for his excellent lawman skills. After some outlaws attack the wagon train, Courtwright takes charge and leads others to a saloon to question the alleged criminals. 

However, he doesn’t have the patience to wait for answers and takes matters into his own hands. He kills the men to send out a strong message.
