The next movie in the Open Season movie series was released after just a couple of years. Enthusiastic audiences piled up in the cinema theatres. This time, the adventure of Boog and Elliot was about saving their family who were targeted by a group of hunters.

3. Open Season 3 (2010)

Open Season 3 (2010)

This time, a rather saddening twist occurs at the very beginning of the film. It seems as though Elliot has become a bit distant from his friend Boog. Elliot and Giselle now have three children of their own and Elliot seldom has time to go on whimsical adventures with Boog as he used to. So Boog decides to fly solo and go on a trip on his own with Dinkleman, his plush toy.

Boog ends up in a Russian traveling circus. Here he meets Doug another grizzly bear. Doug Lemon started Canon no longer wanted to keep on performing in the circus and he longed for recognition. He longed to be the king of the forest. He cons Boog into swapping places with him. However, blinded by power Doug goes on to enslave the forest animals.

His best friend, an Argentine lama Alistair, feels betrayed and abandoned as Doug had promised him that he would be coming back to him. Alistair tells everything to Boog, and even though Boog forgives Doug, Doug is abandoned by his former best friend. The ending of the movie has Boog and Alistair growing a deep bond of friendship.

This particular movie in the series sports a rather risky plot twist. However, the audience seemed to like it. The movie is now available on Amazon Prime Video and Netflix.

4. Open Season: Scared Silly (2015)

Open Season: Scared Silly (2015)

The 3rd film in the Open Season movie series marked a significant improvement in one particular sector. While the entire movie left little to complain about, the animation particularly had been way more brilliant and neatly crafted than the predecessors in the movie series. This surely added much value to the entire movie-watching experience and set a high standard for its successor. Even though the fourth installment took some time, the movie series tried to deliver only the best with its final installment as well.

In a classical style, the movie celebrates the bond of friendship and how friends can help you brave your fears. The story revolves around Boog the bear’s fear of Werewolves. So when Elliot starts telling a campfire story that features the legendary Wailing Wampus Werewolf, Boog retires from their annual camp trip. Boog is unwilling to return till he is assured that the Werewolf is indeed gone. Boog’s friends help him to get out of this irrational fear of his.

This movie is available on Amazon Prime. You can also watch the movie on Netflix or Vudu.
