Stranger Things Fourth Season - latest news

Whether or not you’re much into the sci-fi genre or the retro 80’s atmosphere brilliantly represented in the Netflix show, if you were at all alive and around in the referred decade, it’s particularly hard to resist its overall appeal.

For newcomers, it provides a close insight of what it was like to live in a time where the internet wasn’t available, phones had cords and were indoors and kids had to use imagination and friendship to conquer the world.

After three very successful seasons and a legion of fans gathered along the way, we thought you’d like to know beforehand what we do know already – and what remains under the veil – with regards to the fourth installment of “Stranger Things”.

Will Stranger Things See a Fourth Season?

Netflix has indeed confirmed this information on September 30th, 2019 after a teaser video was released online to dissipate any doubt.

In fact, some information has come to light regarding the intention to renew the show for an even further fifth season, but as with anything in life, it’s better to grab hold to what we do have confirmed for now and enjoy it before we start entering futurology.

How Many Episodes Will There Be?

That information is still unconfirmed, but it’s expected that season 4 should follow the same principle as its previous effort with 8 episodes filled with 80’s glam, big-hair girls and a fantastic soundtrack.

Overall, only season 2 differed, having 9 episodes in total but also a storyline that indeed deserved and called for that extra onscreen time.

What Can We Expect From Season 4?

(Spoiler Alert) The end of season 3 saw Joyce Byers leaving Hawkins and taking Will and El away with her.

After the events from season 3, that should honestly be expected by any fan, but do consider that the remaining characters were left behind. Whatever season 4 brings should either follow two different plot lines or one that will force the gang together again – we may as well bet our chips on the second theory!

Will The Cast Be The Same?

Though the main cast should remain untouched for this fourth ride with the gang, it’s reported that four new characters will come to give further span to the storyline playing teenage roles. Fair enough to say that we saw some losses in the previous season and therefore, new blood is always welcome – so said the Mind Flayer!

If you’re a fan of the show, you already know there’s a high probability that some previous favorite or two may not make an appearance this time around…

Any Theories Gaining Hype?

Some theories are gaining strength online, with one of our favorites definitely pulling the chord on Hopper for good. It’s said that the American in prison may not be Hopper after all but Dr. Brenner instead, theoretically killed during the first season. Given his insight on the whole mechanism that opens portals between worlds, It may be highly unlikely that the fourth season would make an appearance in Russia to save Hopper during the Cold War. But then again…

Considering that the next series should, chronologically speaking, be spent during the year 1986, there may be a possibility that the Chernobyl incident can have an influence on the storyline. It may be unlikely that it will have a central role given its highly sensitive nature, but considering the impact it had at the time, it could at least be used as an item to further reinforce the true 80’s nature of the show.

Whatever Season 4 of Stranger Things brings to the screen, it will be received with great anticipation and scrutiny by its broad audience.

It’s not easy being one of the top tv shows of the decade for years in a row and, simultaneously, create new and engaging plot lines to keep the viewer entertained.

Though the first two seasons received extremely high rates, the third season was met with some criticism due to following a similar line to its previous two seasons. In the show’s defense, it’s very hard to reinvent a story that is so well structured.

That is not to say that Season 3 hasn’t been highly rated, but there seems to be an obvious descending curve in public approval over time that we can only expect season 4 will correct.

Indeed, what we wish the most is for Stranger Things to be onscreen for many and great years to come, delivering on its promise of exciting action, enjoyable characters, and its unique and fascinating 80’s sci-fi atmosphere.
