DJI is involving themselves into a business of battling robot

Less than a month ago, DJI made a debut with Osmo action. It was something they did which had no connection with gimbles and drones. The Osmo Action had a feature of an action camera in it. You can treat that device like a GoPro family member. Right now, they are coming up with a new thing which is educational fighting robots.

Robot master S1 was an odd fit at the primary level. But right now the robotics is the main fitting element for the DJI production. The CEO of the DJI named Frank Wang had studied about robotics at the school level. The company has organized a robotic battle tournament in China. It was under the robot masters banner

The S1 had already taken its name in that competition. But the company’s main motto is to involve the consumer in this category. Mainly, the mission is to involve in the DJI’s Mavic line. It is considered as a first step in the world of science and education. This is a project where you have to assemble the 46 scrambled pieces and to do that, you have to be a master of coding.

At the age of 1614, S1 was a very amazing robot. It has the capability to move at a speed of 8 miles an hour with its four wheels. It also has a turret which looks like a tank and it can give a massive blast during the battle. They also have an infrared shooter which can be used in the time of messy combat.

31 sensors are installed on the board. Six of them are designed to detect the hits and damages. There is also a camera onboard, which helps the user to control the robot by the FPV app. The built-in machines are there which will help the robot to sense the obstacles and it can also receive the signals from the other units of S1.

There are recognition functions in a number of half dozen. They include different recognition like S1 recognition, gesture recognition, Line follow and follow mode. It helps them to navigate the robot with respect to the landmarks. The user can easily control the robot manually with the help of the app.

The hardware part is less customized but the RoboMasters counterparts are more customized. There are six PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) ports on the front portion where you can plug in any kind of third-party hardware so where you can easily soup up the robot. If you look at the software side Python program is used for the “hit and turn” function. But the turret spins back if it senses a hit from the behind.

The robot is available for sale from today. It costs $499. The company is also planning to shift the standard PlayMore kit configuration. It includes a battery, a lot of getting pieces of bread and a controller. That will be available for sale from the next month. This was declared by the company officials.

Microsoft has banned Slack for employees and discourages using Google Docs and AWS internally

Microsoft has currently blocked its employees from using the free version of Slack. The company is reported to have taken this step due to security issues.

The company has also made a list of services and software that are prohibited for its employees to use. This also includes Google Docs and Amazon Web Services. As reported by Verge on Saturday, the company is discouraging its employees from using the services of the giant companies.

According to the company:

“Slack free, Slack standard and Slack plus versions do not provide required controls to properly protect Microsoft Intellectual Property (IP)”

and hence it advises that staff should use its internally developed software instead.’

“Existing users of these solutions should migrate chat history and files related to Microsoft business to Microsoft teams, which offers the same features and integrated Office 365 apps, calling and meeting functionality.”

“Slack Enterprise Grid version complies with Microsoft security requirements, however, we encourage the use of Microsoft teams rather than a competitive software.”

Microsoft is competing against Slack. The messaging service has recently launched integrations and apps for Slack and Office 365 in order to bridge the gap. The company has also introduced its free version of Teams in order to compete aggressively with Slack earlier this year.

According to the document, Google Docs and Amazon Web Services are directly in competition with Microsoft’s Azure cloud and Office 365. They have discouraged their employees to use these services and requires a business justification.

Other than this software, the company has also put a banned on Grammarly because the office add-in and browser extensions cannot be used on the Microsoft network. That’s because they are able to gain Information Rights Management protected content within documents and emails.

Even GitHub’s cloud version is also discouraged by the company for security reasons. This is mainly done for highly secretive types of specs, information or code.

Microsoft has prohibited the use of all these apps and software for security reasons. Employees are encouraged to use in-house software for their work.

A new camera from Hasseblad is a tiny, beautiful throwback to history

While the future of cameras is moulded by mirror fewer models, the past of cameras is occupied by medium format models. Hasselblad happens to be one of the leading companies. The company has come up with its new digital camera with lenses going back to the 50s. The tiny 907x camera body is a beautiful throwback to history.

As announced today, the new systems are going to be different from what most people are used to. Interchangeable lens systems such as Nikon and Canon and mirrorless cameras from Fuji and Olympus are known to come with two parts. This includes the body and the lens.

Hasselblad too manufactures such cameras. But the best out of the lot is definitely the CFV II digital black and 907x camera body.

Unlike DSLR cameras, digital backs are known to have giant sensors. They make use of medium format film. However, they do require a camera unit for the heavy lifting of parsing of the pixels.

The best thing about these cameras is that you can attach a modern camera unit and back to a lens that is decade old. Also, you can use a modern lens. But the main fun of these cameras is using the lens from the distant past. Using these cameras you can shoot in ways that were only seen in the past.

The system launched by Hasselblad today is a compact one. It packs all the processing power in an enclosure which is as big as the lens. The system comes with a high-resolution touchscreen on the back that flips out 45 and 90-degree angles. This allows you to take shots from top-down or from an angle preferred in the old days. This may bring in a bit of nostalgia from the past.
